Have you ever made anything with purple bell peppers?

My mom shops at the farmer place and she got some bell peppers that are pretty purple. She also got some buffalo burger. Since I was a brat about it I get to do the cooking.

can anyone tell me a good and easy way to make these? Do I have to peel them first?

please help.Have you ever made anything with purple bell peppers?
This is what i do with them:

Bell Peppers Lemonly Dressed and Cumin-esque Recipe

This versatile recipe will add pizzazz to virtually any dish from steak, to grilled chicken, to an antipasti platter. Or add shrimp, tofu or beans directly to the dish to make it an entr茅e. You鈥檒l have some dressing left over.

Ingredients

1/2 cup, plus 1 tablespoon, extra virgin olive oil, divided

2 purple bell peppers, thinly sliced

2 green or yellow bell peppers, thinly sliced

1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 1 large lemon)

2 tablespoons minced parsley

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon honey

1 garlic clove, minced

1/4 cup finely chopped scallions or red onion

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add peppers; saut茅, stirring until slightly soft, about 3 minutes. Let cool.

2. Combine remaining oil, lemon juice, parsley, cumin, honey and garlic in a large jar. With the lid tightly screwed on, shake the jar vigorously until oil and lemon juice have combined and thickened.

3. Toss peppers and scallions with about half the vinaigrette in a large bowl. Add salt and pepper. Cover; refrigerate 1 hour. Serves 4.

**You can make it with strictly purple bell peppers

Why is America as a whole obese or overweight? Could this be the A to the Q?

So everyone is saying that we are overweight and obese and test show it and I guess I agree because I see it everywhere %26amp; maybe experiance a few extra lbs myself as well as some in the family but def. not big time overweight. Still, we're not in the shape we want to be. Well the other day we went shopping and I had it on my mind to shop healthy and buy healthy food like veggies and fruits and fish etc. To my surprise all the healthy stuff was expensive. You try to buy chicken, steak, fish and it's $$$ I was really disappointed b/c every healthy meal I planned was out the window...due to budget. Well we kept going down the aisle and what do you know pizza's and burger patties a lot cheaper than any of the health food. If you go to a fast food place you get fatty foods for like $1.00 off the dollar menu BUT a salad costs like $5.00. It's def. more expensive to eat healthy..%26amp; exercise man...if we had the time. Of course I believe in strong will equals great results. Ur opinion on subject? Why is America as a whole obese or overweight? Could this be the A to the Q?
I agree with you on the expense. You can do small things though like buy skim milk instead of whole...things like that. Anything helps. Americans are just lazier than they used to be. When I was a kid, we went outside and played everyday...ran, jumped, skipped, etc. Now, kids stay inside in front of the TV, computer, or video games. I think a lot of it, too, has to do with both parents working....there's less time for family time. I remember in the summers, my mom would take my sister and I swimming everyday. We couldn't have done that if she worked. I don't think it's just one thing. I think it's a combination of things that causes people to be overweight. Why is America as a whole obese or overweight? Could this be the A to the Q?
You are right about health food. It isn't cheap and the dollar menu is. There is another factor that science has found to be a problem also. In the 2004 Newsweek Aug. 23 issue they had a cover story about how obesity is linked to toxins. Some of the other information I've read also mentions the lack of nutrients our food has and that when our body doesn't get the nutrients it needs it keeps craving food so we eat more and more. Is plaza singapura a nice place to shop.given achoice would u patronise plaza sing and why?

i am doing a survey on why sales in mos burger at plaza singapura dropped alot..Is plaza singapura a nice place to shop.given achoice would u patronise plaza sing and why?
last time i went there was to go starhub service counter.

found the layout is very confusing. mos burger ... din remember seeing it. which floor is it on?
Nope. I would go to Plaza Sing for movie and then go home. It is positioned nowhere. Not a upclass shopping, not for computers, not for kids, not for youngsters, not even a aunty shopping centre, no killer apps.

I harder go to the MOS Burger maybe because the frontage is too small. Not very significant. Is plaza singapura a nice place to shop.given achoice would u patronise plaza sing and why?
I don't like Plaza Singapura. I find it boring. The only time I ever go there is to meet friends. Sure, it has Spotlight, Daiso and Carrefour, but none of these shops do anything for me. I don't buy guitars and I don't watch movies often.

Mos Burger is at the corner, right? Next to DBS Bank? I have the feeling that their shop frontage doesn't stick out enough... if you know what I mean.
i dont like PS.. always too crowded..and the shops are boring... as for mos burger, the location is abit off.. i sugget you can give out discount coupon at the main entrance or put at a sign near entrance on mos burgerIs plaza singapura a nice place to shop.given achoice would u patronise plaza sing and why?
Great place for window shop ... many stores under one roof

Close proximity to MRT with lots of parking

except I tend to avoid crowds .....

Is there any store or shop that sell "shoes for crews" brand? I need it to work at Fast Food Restaurant?

I will start to work at Burger King, and the manager told me, before i can get to work, i should get the slip-resistant shoes. then he gave me a "shoes for crews" catalog. Then i start to search the shoes in some stores, but they don't sell it. Then i checked the website to find a retail store location, but they said they have only 1 store which in Las Vegas. I live in Nevada and of course i can't go there just for to get the shoes. They said i have to order by online or by phone. Now here's the problem, i need the shoes tomorrow, while they say they will send my order in next 2 - 3 business days. How can i get the shoes for tomorrow? Is anyone can help me find the brand shoes? Or i can buy the other shoes brand as substitute?

Thank You for the help =DIs there any store or shop that sell "shoes for crews" brand? I need it to work at Fast Food Restaurant?
You should clarify with your manager whether you have to have any slip resistant shoes, or whether you are specifically required to wear Shoes for Crews brand slip resistant shoes. You can buy slip resistant shoes at many stores (although they typically aren't as good a quality as a vendor that specializes in safety footwear), and if you have to have them by tomorrow you could probably pick up a pair to get you by until then.

I've got a blog post on "Where to Buy Slip Resistant Shoes" you ought to read: http://www.srmax.com/education/blog/wher鈥?/a>

Hope that helps. Is there any store or shop that sell "shoes for crews" brand? I need it to work at Fast Food Restaurant?
any slip resistant shoe will work, i always use "safe step" shoes.

  • What should I go for this Halloween if my boyfriend is the Burger King king?

With his guy friends, my boyfriend is doing fast food characters ( bk king, jack in the box, ronald McDonnell etc.) This is the 2nd major "guy" thing he has kicked me out of when we originally planned to do something together ( 1st, our first trip to vegas turned into a trip with just the guys for our guy friend's b-day and now this. Needless to say i'm annoyed and pissed)

so i either want to dress with him sort of (masquerade girl, jester girl, ice queen or things like that) so we still make sense when we stand next to each other (any other ideas?)

    OR

dress as something SUPER hot and sexy so he'll regret ditching me again. Things like a lingerie french maid or mario girl with a tube-top top and super short overalls since he likes video games.

either way, suggestions on creative unique or just pure sexy costumes would be great!

BEST ANSWER GETS some of the creative, unique, non-generic ideas I've come across that you wont find at the costume shopWhat should I go for this Halloween if my boyfriend is the Burger King king?
What should you go for? I'd go for a different boyfriend, if I were you. He sounds like a jerk.
Wow, he sounds like an insensitive jerk. I would tell him how annoyed you are and get that off your chest. But for costumes, I suggest you ditch him and go with your girl friends and be anything you want for costume ideas like:

Dress up as a cheeseburger. Since your bf is the Burger King king, you could walk up to him in the costume and say something sexy like "Have it your way: eat me."

How much profit can a medium size coffee house with a drive through make?

I'm considering opening one in a city in Maryland that has no coffee shops with drive throughs. If I got a bank loan and got one up and running what would a typical income be after it's on it's feet?

I've never owned or managed a business. How long would this take to be worth my while and how much profit would that actually be?

To the interview i wore black school trousers, appropriate shoes and top, black cardigan on top. Minimal make up etc.

I'm currently studying business administration at college which the interviewer knew, she also asked if I had done any voluntary work, I said yes, I ran a coffee shop/bar and the local youth centre for one year, - managing stock control, serving customers etc.

I'm not being vein, but guys of all ages stare at me. I don't wear revealing clothing at all. But yes I am pretty, and I have a very defined hour glass figure that alot of guys like. I have confidence, but not so much to seem arrogant. My CV I handed in was really good.

Maybe she assumed because u were a student that u wouldn't take working there as serious as someone else who looks at Burger King as a real career, like a high school drop out. Please Answer!! Thankssss xxxx?
What position were you applying for? If it was a management position, I'd buy the "jealous of you" reason, as she may have had fears that you were out for HER job. If, however, you were simply applying for a staff position (cashier etc) the most probable reason for turning you down would be that you are overqualified and not likely to stay with the job long, as you'll have better offers rolling in. The company doesn't want to go to the time and expense of training you, only to have you leave after a brief period.
It would have beem their experience of dealing with people like you and their lack of intelligence. It is one thing to be a great educated person, but not be able to follow simple instructions.

Should the USA and Canada accept third world medical doctors & other proffessionals into their work force?

There are thousands of proffesionally trained individuals, like doctors, nurses.teachers etc who are driving cabs or working in donuts shops in New york and Toronto. If they were good enough to work effectively in their homelands, why can't they be given jobs in North America.Isn't this discrimation, are they saying that the standard of education in third world countries are inferior...what a waste of knowledge..people with PHD's driving cabs or fliping burgers.THis is crazy.Should the USA and Canada accept third world medical doctors %26amp; other proffessionals into their work force?
It's not crazy. North Americans are very suspicious of the universities and licensing bodies in ramshackle third world countries, whether sometimes are riots for the right to cheat on exams, as in India.

I call your attention to the case the notorious doctor who went from India to Australia, then botched a series of operations, leading to the deaths of many patients. We simply do not trust the licensing associations in such countries.Should the USA and Canada accept third world medical doctors %26amp; other proffessionals into their work force?
Because USA and Canada wants educated slave laborShould the USA and Canada accept third world medical doctors %26amp; other proffessionals into their work force?
If you have an MD from a nationally recognized medical school in 'most' countries in the world, you can become licensed to practice medicine in the USA by doing a few classes to cover subjects that are different - such as pharmacology - and then passing the medical licensing exams.

I think you need the help most if you are writing an essay on trying to get a crappy job when you are studying business administration. A little ego check regarding your appearance and abilities will serve you better in the future too.
Try in-n-out, they pay way better. You probably didn't fit their profile, make sure you open wour schedule up. Most of the managers are terrible at scheduling, and are intimidated by the slightest challenge, they may even be afraid that you will do better than them. Why didn't BURGER KING Hire me?.. You list all these "qualifications" when in reality there is no need to have any of that to flip burgers. Have you seen some of the people working at fast food places? Not the sharpest knifes in the drawer.

As others said you seem pretty conceited.
If she was only looking at you for your appearance that is "discrimination" - you have the qualifications - if you want to proceed on this call to ask for the managerWhy didn't BURGER KING Hire me?.. Short question! Please Answer!! Thankssss xxxx?
For some of those jobs you have to be 18 so that could be a reason. You also need to consider that employers usually deliberate and take time before the hire people. maybe it just didn't work out?
    Are you a geeky, nerd???!!!
Think of it as a blessing. Raise your standards.
    burger king cooks cats
I think you blew it in the interview. While you said it went great, the rest of the your writing suggests you are somewhat conceited and high maintenance to deal with. People like that rarely understand why people don't like that about them...but we would not hire a server like that, they are poor choices for public contact.

So if what you say is true about your qualifications - you blew it in the interview. And only a conceited person would actually suggest it was because they were more attractive than the interviewer.

And the more outraged you get at someone suggesting you are conceited and/or high maintenance - the more true it is of you.
you would do much better at a sit down restaurant where you can get tips....the girl that interviewed you probably didn't want you to work there because she was afraid that you would take her boyfriend away from her.....so look at places like the Cheesecake Factory or Applebees or what ever they have like that because it sounds like you could make somewhere around $100.00 per shift in tips.....go for a better class of customer....people still eat out......

Are you like me? You remember what a REAL sub is like-- from a real ma and pa sub shop? A couple of burgers falling off the roll covered in melted cheese and caramelized fried onion-- so big you couldn't finish it? I dream everyday of a true hoagie from any of the original Philadelphia neighborhood sandwich shops. Real thin sliced onion, scoop the roll a little bit. I find it very disheartening when I see a sign advertising "Real Philadelphia Hoagies" or "Philly steak sandwiches", and you go inside to get one of these originals and it's on a big hot dog bun. Makes me want to scream. :0Sub shop question-- people 30+ and under .....?
I wholly agree! Subway is gross!Sub shop question-- people 30+ and under .....?
If you are in the Rochester, NY area or in Ann Arbor, MI (that's where I found them) Dibella's Subs are just like that- thick chewy soft bread, real salami, capicola, and ham, and tasty hot peppers- great stuff. Jimmy John's is much better than Subway as well... but nothing like Dibella's.
You are SO right... I don't settle though.... If you look hard enough there's still a couple left...

First meal of the day should be protein rich. As you go through the day reduce the protein in favour of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates have calming effect, so they are good in the evening.

Sub shop question-- people 30+ and under .....?

Are you like me? You remember what a REAL sub is like-- from a real ma and pa sub shop? Great crusty bread, real Italian meats and cheeses, good olive oil and vinegar, lettuce, tomato, mayo all wrapped up in a greasy paper wrapper? A couple of burgers falling off the roll covered in melted cheese and caramelized fried onion-- so big you couldn't finish it? Do you find it sad now that most kids think a sub is one of those assembly-line things from Subway in the plastic bag that all tastes the same? I don't know who I pity more-- the kids now who don't know any better or me since that bland preprocessed crap is taking over the world.Sub shop question-- people 30+ and under .....?
Healthy Gourmet Meets old world Flavors. We been in the restaurant business for 18 years. Our motto is if you don't love it on the first bite we'll exchange it for anything else you might desire. We don't make our own sour kraut but we do get it from a very reputable company. Boarshead it is pretty darn good. Our Reuben sandwich has 5 ounces of corned beef 4 ounces of sour kraut 3 ounzes swiss cheese and the meat and kraut is sauteed in extra virgin olive oil before it goes on new york marbled rye bread. It is topped with old world style deli mustard or with Thousand Island by request.

We have one of the best French dip sandwich in the state of Texas. Our aujus is secretly our French onion soup and it has some secret ingredients that make it so good, people drive for miles to eat the sandwich.

We have an Italian Hoagie sandwich that has Genoa salami, Proscuito, Mortadella, Provolone, Parmesan, homemade Italian vinaigrette, lettuce, tomato and onion.

Can you say Gyro? Yeero in Greek, Gyro in english. I have heard eight pronuciations of the same word but I only know one way to say Greek taco . Lol. True authentic cooked on a verticle rotisserie, sliced onto Greek bread, tomatoes onions and a home made yogurt cucumber sauce. (Tzatziki)

My wife makes 6 gallons of homemade thick yogurt for the restaurant a week. It is very yummy and very fresh.

Oh don't forget the Spanish sandwich which has Jamon Serrano and Manchego cheese on a fresh baked French bread, fresh tomato juice, Vinaigrette, lettuce, tomato and Pepperoncini Peppers. The Sandwich is literally is sopping with flavors.
A place I used to live used to make the best Reuben sub.......they cooked the corned beef themselves, the saurkraut was brought in from a local woman, and they baked fresh bread everyday.

Sadly, the place isn't there anymore. The owners retired and the kids didn't want to be bothered with the buisness.Sub shop question-- people 30+ and under .....?
I once went to this place in St. Augustine, FL. Me and a friend walked in and it was one lady who owned the restaurant served and cooked our food all by herself. I got a chicken club sandwich. You think "what could be so great about a chicken club sandwich? Its got chicken and bacon on it." Well, I don't know what the lady did, but it was amazing! To this day, I am still in search of a better chicken club than that.
I used to work in a deli and every time i go into a subway or similar establishment i die a little inside... We used to roast our own roast beef to medium rare and it was perfect seeing some precooked preserved gray beef is really terrible as well.Sub shop question-- people 30+ and under .....?
I used to go to this Italian deli that made a sandwich called "the Goomba". It was the best. Fresh Italian bread with Imported Proscuitto de Parma, Fresh Mozz, homemade Rstd Peppers, Sundried Tomatoes. Oh man that is still my favorite sandwich I've ever had.

Funny thing, is my co-workers went to subway today for lunch, I stuck to my frozen meal. If i'm gonna buy a sandwich, I'll make it count, lol.
Ohh I love a good sandwich. I grew up in a town made up of mainly Italians. Lots of fresh breads, lots of fresh meats, and all the good stuff. Oh, the crusty bread. There are a few good places left, but not many. I'm also a big fan of our local agricultural fairs. You do get a lot of those vendors that go to carnivals all over and have crap food, but then, you have the local farmers, and family owned restaurants, and clubs, that make all their food fresh, right then and there. Roast beef on a fresh, crusty roll with REAL horseradish (not that watered down crap you get everywhere else), fresh made NE Clam Chowder, and deep fried potatoes (fresh french fries). Oh, I'm drooling now.
Never tried a real sub, subways all I've tried or other sandwith chains. But we know this Vietnamese place where they have great sandwitches..oh the turkey sandwitch on that sourdough bread. Cheese or butter slabbed on and a couple of tomatos and olives. I know there was much more to it but I dont remember what they were. I liked mine tasting that way. ;and her mom packed those sandwitches and took us to the beach..so after seashellahunting and dipping our feet in the water we'd rest and eat.
There used to be a sub shop called Deep Six, which closed when I was about 5. They made a killer roast beef sandwich from what I remember.

Chubby's, which up the block from my house, makes a great meatball sub. The owner makes his own meatballs and homemade sauce.

I work in Manhattan, and the deli here on 7th makes a decent sandwich. If I want a really good Italian sub I head to Little Italy.
I know, I remember those days. I make those "greasy-crusty-bread burgers and sandwiches" for my husband and our three boys. They call them McMommy's. :)

Mcdonald, kfc, burger king part time?

how do i go ahead %26amp; ask them for part time vacancies?

Do i just go into the shop %26amp; ask the manager like that?

Do i need appoinment?Mcdonald, kfc, burger king part time?
    Hey-

I worked at McD full time for about 2 years and it was fine as long as you aren't lazy and you're willing to work for your money.

the only thing i have to add is that you should fill out an application even if they AREN'T HIRING! you'd be surprised how quickly people go through there and they're willing to accept almost anybody.

also your application is valid for 30 or 60 days so if you don't get hired then re-apply.

    good luck
Ask if they are hiring. And if you want you can fill out an application usually on the spot (regardless of if they are hiring at the moment)Mcdonald, kfc, burger king part time?
all you gotta do is walk up to the front counter and ask for the manager. then ask if they have part time positions open. i worked at mcdonalds for a year and a half and they were very flexible with my scheduling. you don't have to make an appointment or anything. just show up how you are...oh and smile a lot!
No appointment needed, just went up to manager whether do they want to hire.

It's easyMcdonald, kfc, burger king part time?
Go in, ask for the manager and then introduce yourself politely and professionally and ask them if they are doing any hiring. If they say yes, ask for an application. When you look at the application, it asks ou if you want full or part time. It also asks how long you plan on working there and that sort of thing. I was a manager at McDonald's. A certified one at that, meaning, I went to the schools and everything. I only made $7 an hour! I do not recommend working there. Make sure that you are always professional. Make sure that when you take in the application, after filling it out, that you don't do it during their rushes. Which are usually from about 6:30-7:30am, 12-1 pm, 3-5pm and then the dinner rushes change. Depends on the weather, also. When you bring it back, give it to the manager. If they need part time, they'll call you and set up an interview. Good Luck!
Most places will just let you yoo go in and ask 4 the Maneger i know McDonalds does
Just ask someone behind the counter if you can see the Manager, or if there are any vacancies
go to the website and apply online
Just ask if they are hiring? You will be amazed how easy it is to just ask for what you want. The worst thing they can say is NO. Good luck.
No appointment necessary but be prepared to interview by having all your information ready (dates, names, addresses, phone numbers) of employers and personal references. Dress nicely. Act professionally. Just go from place to place filling out applications whether they are hiring or not.
just go to the shop and ask ahead..they dont even need you to show your certs

  • Should i make a complaint about this shop assistant|?

yesterday i bought a burger from burger king which was like 拢3 and she said 'that is 拢3 please' I could only hear her so slightly and i said '拢3' and she then kept saying this! :

' it is 3 pound for a burger, thwee pound boy for burger boy, this burger is thwee pund and comes with lettuce and mayo, thewee pound all the way. Give me moneyyyy nowwwww!'

I was utterly shocked and the way i worded it is exactly how it sounds and the girl was like 17 and could not believe how childish she was.

Anyway worse was to come after when she then followed me over to the seating area as i sat and ate my burger, she brought the sanitizer over and started spraying walking round saying 'thwee pound'. Would you complain?Should i make a complaint about this shop assistant|?
your should have complained at the time it happened.
Definitely report her!!!! What a freak! This girl has got a screw loose! I would contact the district manager for Burger King. If her manager is there and sits back and lets her act like a loon, then she should lose her job too.Should i make a complaint about this shop assistant|?
You should have started shouting for the manager and reported the little creep at once.
Why wouldn't you complain? That's terrible serviceShould i make a complaint about this shop assistant|?
throw a rock through their window, you will feel better.
yes they shouldnt be actting like that

Can i cook frozen burgers in a fat fryer??

I was in a chip shop the other day and my partner ordered a burger from there. It seemed like it was ready in 2 mins.. im sure the lady behind the counter just put it in the fryer. I now have burgers for dinner tonight.. could i do this in my fat fryer,, and dab off the access grease ( i normally do this when i grill them). Thanks in advanceCan i cook frozen burgers in a fat fryer??
Hi yep you can, they probably will take a little longer than 2 mins but no longer than 5 mins at the most, you will be able to tell if they are cooked or not. it wont be very healthy but they will be done quicker and taste lovely lol
NO WAY! There will be a lot of water in the frozen burger and as you know oil and water don't mix. You will get a lot of splattering and may even cause the pan to overflow and catch fire. Maybe the lady at the f/c shop had already cooked it and just warmed it through in the fat/oil. Grill or fry is the best. Can i cook frozen burgers in a fat fryer??
I knew someone who did this...and they were really really obese. You CAN do this, but I advise you not to because it is super unhealthy. (the grease gets in the burger, not just on the surface)
You would be better defrosting the burgers before cooking either by using a microwave or by leaving "ambient" for about 20mins. Under NO circumstances would I deep fry burgers - much better grilled or pan friedCan i cook frozen burgers in a fat fryer??
Hamburgers are greasy enough without cooking them in all that oil. I wouldn't recommend it.
Yes, as long as they are cooked trough this is fine. my friend does it all the time and she is still here lol. i havent tried one so cant comment on the taste
Much nicer grilled, and healthier. Can fo a little tough when fried,

Im 17, tall slim, pretty, good appearance.

Interview: This went very VERY well. Didn't say anything wrong at all, the person who interviewed me was nice, we greeted each other, said thank you etc.

All the questions she asked, I answered with confidence etc..

However, when I got home, I had a phone call, she said I had not got the job. I said ok and thanks.

I told my sister, who is a year younger, she said maybe the interviewer is jealous if you?

The interview was (Obese). She looked like she had been tangoed as well. I had a far better appearance than her.

To sum up, my CV is great, the interview went fantastic, I have all the needed requirements. But no job?

Sorry, but there were 9 jobs going, and I knew about 10 others who applied, and they had failed all their GCSEs etc, and none of my mates who had passed wanted to work in 'a place like that'.

You sound pretty stuck up to me.

If you really are so pretty, she might feel you would be flirting with your coworkers more than working.

Next time, say, "May I ask why I didn't get the job, so I know what area to improve?"

And what on earth does HER appearance have to do with yours? Perhaps she saw you had a bad attitude and need to grow up.

PS, Perhaps your CV had misspellings and typos, and you should not be so "vein".Burger King wouldn't even hire me? Passed all Gcses, great interview, excellent appearence.. ?
life lesson - being president of your own fan club doesn't work once you leave school. Some people think excessively pretty girls have a much higher chance of being arrogant airheads. I can't imagine why.

what a very satisfactory story.Burger King wouldn't even hire me? Passed all Gcses, great interview, excellent appearence.. ?
It seems to me that you think you should have been offered the job just because you think you are pretty. How very conceited of you. That should not even have entered your head. Anyone who applies should be given the chance to get the job, including the 'ordinary' ones.

You say that none of your mates would want to work there. Maybe they knew that you wouldn't stay and didn't want to waste their time in training you.

It's possible that you were overqualified. Some of these places look for people with absolutely no qualifications because it means they can keep their staff for as long as possible. If you go in there with good GCSEs and tell them you're studying for this and that course, they're immediately going to think "she's doing this to scrape together a bit of money and she'll toodle off the second she gets a better opportunity".

Secondly, don't put so much down to your appearance. You come across as very arrogant and personally somebody I wouldn't want to employ, even though obviously you wouldn't have come across this way in an actual interview. Don't always assume that because you didn't get somewhere or achieve something that someone must have been jealous of your God-given gifts and purposely sabotaged your plans.

Does anyone have a recipe for Cauliflower Burgers?

    Cauliflower Patties

    1 lb cauliflower

*(I used 3/4 pound frozen cauliflower and 1/4 pound broccoli florets)

    Oil

    1 carrot, peeled and shredded

    1/4 cup chopped onion

Ener-G Egg Substitute for 1 egg, beaten

    1/4 tsp salt

    Pinch of pepper

Cracker meal or fine breadcrumbs (low carbers, use some low carb bread crumbs here)

    Pan spray

Cook cauliflower in a little water until tender. Drain.

Put into a large bowl, and mash well. Set aside.

In a frying pan, saute` onion and carrot in a little oil until soft.

Add to mashed cauliflower in bowl. Cool.

Add egg sub, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Add just enough cracker meal so that the mixture can be formed into patties that will stay together

(not too wet or too dry).

    Form mixture into burger-shaped patties.

Arrange patties on a sprayed baking sheet.

    Bake at 300 F for 10 minutes.

Turn, and bake another 5 minutes.

    1/2 cup walnuts

    1/2 pound firm tofu

    1/2 teaspoon finely ground pepper

    1/2 cup wheat germ

2 Tbs. nutritional yeast (health food stores have it, and it is good sprinkled on salads too)

Steam the cauliflower for 5 minutes. Then finely chop in a food processor.

    Combine with the chopped onion.

    Preheat the oven to 350掳.

Finely chop the garlic and walnuts in a food processor and mix with cauliflower and onions. Still using the food processor, blend tofu, salt and pepper. Now mix everything you have chopped together.

How did these idiots get jobs as managers?

In a local department store (I would name it but they'd come round and sue me) there are, to my knowledge, a teacher, a physics graduate, a zoology graduate and a social science graduate working as sales assistants on the minimum wage because they can't get any better job.

It is very hard here (Scotland) to get any job, even cleaning or working on a check-out or burger flipping or any other rubbish, work-all-hours, minimum wage job.

This department store just engaged two new managers who between them in their first week of work have, among other buffooneries, taken the chairs away from two perfectly competent and hard working staff, ordering them to stand all day.

If there is any justice, this will trigger a walk-out and maybe a strike. (I don't work there, I have no interest in this except that of a disinterested observer.) So how do idiots like that get to be managers, when people with university degrees have to spend months searching for crappy jobs on the shop floor? How did these idiots get jobs as managers?
WOW....quite sad. I don't think there will be justice....at least not the how you describe it. I am sure if the people could afford to walk out....they would have already done so.

Here in America we have a saying.........I'm sure you will gets it's meaning and this is why I think idiots have these jobs...here goes the saying..."it's not who you KNOW. It's who you BLOW"

Best wishes to those who you observe with disinterest. How did these idiots get jobs as managers?
They invested in knee pads. Just kidding.

;OPHow did these idiots get jobs as managers?
the power and the favours work at times rather most of the time...
it sounds pretty crumby, but i don't know of any customer service jobs here in the US that don't involve extended periods of standing. the only time you do get to sit is when you're on your break or lunch. you have a good 8 hour shift just like everybody else in america, but does a regular shift usually involve longer hours? i don't know I've never been outside of the US.

while i do agree a person with exstensive education in physics or zoology dont belong in a department store, if they hated it so much, why dont they move out of country?

First time in america, what are must-dos?

a friend of mine from germany is visiting america for the first time. im trying to generate a list of things you have to do in america that are really different from living in europe. he'll be spending 2 months mainly in california. so far my list consists of eating at in-n-out burger, shopping in the middle of the night at wal mart, seeing an american football game, and turning right on red at every possible opportunity! can you help me out with some more ideas?First time in america, what are must-dos?
You've got a damn good list so far.

LOL at right on red.First time in america, what are must-dos?
If the road is clear, take a trip up Highway 1 to Monterey. See the aquarium. And head to Santa Cruz to visit the boardwalk.

If you have the time, head up to Leggett. It's on 101, way the hell up north of San Francisco. Look for the drive-through redwood trees.

If you have the budget, go to Las Vegas and find a shooting range which will let you rent machine guns. They definitely can't do THAT in Europe!

If you plan to include other states in your grand tour, I would humbly recommend coming up here to northern Michigan and visiting the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. These are the largest sand dunes on fresh water in the world, so I'm told.First time in america, what are must-dos?
How about Disney Land, and Universal Studios? Red Wood National Park, San Fransisco Wharf area. And the grand finale, drive through South Central L.A. and get shot at.
Turning right on a red light? Man, you have a low thrill level!

There are literally hundreds of things to do here in LA. Here is my list of “must sees”. Visit as many as you have time for.:

Disneyland: The Happiest Place on Earth. Half a billion visitors can’t be wrong. #1 Destination.

Universal Studios: A theme park that grew out of a studio tour. #2 Destination.

Even if you don’t visit Disneyland or Universal Studios Tour, Downtown Disney District and Universal City Walk are very fun places to visit for shopping and eating. And they’re free to visit. If you’re adventurous, try the indoor skydiving (www.iflyhollywood.com). It’s a blast!

Hollywood: Enjoy the Walk of Fame, Entertainment Museum, Chinese Theatre and more. You can see a lot for free. The Hollywood %26amp; Highland complex has lots of shops and restaurants, and the Kodak Theater. The El Capitan theater, right across the street, is where Disney shows their movies. And the Hollywood Bowl is a GREAT place to listen to concerts outdoors.

Other theme parks include Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain, which are both more geared towards the fast-ride teen crowd.

Olvera Street/Union Station: Olvera Street is the birthplace of LA, and it emphasizes our Mexican heritage. In addition to the Avila Adobe (oldest building in LA), you can eat at some pretty good Mexican Restaurants, do a little shopping, and taste a churro. If you don’t want to go to Tijuana, this is as close as it gets without going there. Union Station has great architecture from a bygone age. Also, you are 2 blocks from Phillippe’s (see below).

Rodeo Drive, 90210: Packed with exclusive shops, full of gawkers. They all came to enjoy the excess. Free, unless you intend to buy something.

Venice Beach: Los Angeles kitsch and over-the-top culture at its best. Here you'll find Muscle Beach, street performers and tacky shops galore. Fun, VERY interesting, but I avoid it after dark, when it gets a little TOO interesting for my taste.

Santa Monica: Beach and Pier: Great beach scene and a classic seaside amusement park, complete with antique carousel that has been in a lot of TV and movies. After visiting the pier, you can ride a bike south a couple miles to Venice Beach.

Sunset Boulevard began as a route between the stars' posh neighborhoods and the Hollywood studios. It runs from downtown to the ocean, passing through the "Sunset Strip" on its way.

Farmers Market and The Grove - A new shopping complex right next to a Los Angeles landmark, It is right next to CBS, so walk across the lot to see if they are taping "The Price is Right". You might even get in.

Griffith Park - Home of the Los Angeles Zoo, Griffith Park Observatory, Travel Town, the Greek Theatre, and Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage.

Getty Museum - The Getty's architecture is so beautiful that it keeps me fascinated. No matter whether you like their art, architecture, or view better, the Getty is sure to please. Free.

Attend a TV taping - You can get free tickets at audiencesunlimited.com, tvtix.com, or see the booth at Universal City walk. It's very interesting to see a show being taped. The most popular, by far, is the Tonight show. Check the NBC web site for all the details there.

    Places to eat:

In-N-Out Burger: Multiple locations, best burger in LA, ask anyone.

Pink’s Hot Dogs: 709 N. La Brea, just north of Melrose. You might even see a celebrity. Maybe.

Tommy’s Chili Burgers: Look for the shack, an LA tradition. The original location is at Beverly %26amp; Rampart, a couple miles west of downtown.

Canter’s Deli: 419 N. Fairfax, between Beverly %26amp; Melrose. Near CBS, you might spot a celebrity.

Phillippe’s: 1001 N. Alameda. Great roast beef sandwiches. Near Union Station and Olvera Street. Watch the mustard, it’s hot.

Tito’s Taco’s: Voted best tacos in LA, even though it’s in Culver City. King Taco is a good alternate if you can deal with East LA.

The Pantry: Corner of Figueroa and 9th, downtown. Huge portions, they never close, GREAT steak and eggs.

Medieval Times and/or Pirate’s Dinner Adventure: Dinner and an adventure show, both are on Beach Blvd in Buena Park, you get to eat with your hands.

Ray Kroc said, "McDonald's is not in the hamburger business but in the real estate business." How?

I'm not completely sure about this. I know some stores who build shopping strips and have their store as the anchor store but make their real money on the rentals of the other stores but McDonald's are usually stand alone stores. Does he mean that it is now about the burgers but how convenient it is to get the burgers?Ray Kroc said, "McDonald's is not in the hamburger business but in the real estate business." How?
All businesses are in the real estate business one way or another as they all have premises. With thousand of individual locations, Kroc recognized that, by definition, he was in the real estate business - buying land, building outlets, managing property through leases, maintaining the properties, etc.

Also, retail food outlets are critically dependent on location for traffic. One aspect of real estate is determining the demographics and traffic patterns of any given location so that the right location is selected for location a store.Ray Kroc said, "McDonald's is not in the hamburger business but in the real estate business." Try cole slaw, cabbage is inexpensive and it makes up a lot!! I don't like all coleslaw but this recipe is delicious

    Coleslaw

1 sm-med head of cabbage -8 Cups finely chopped

    1 carrot, shredded or diced

    2 Tbsp onion, minced

    1/2 Cup Mayo

    1/4 Cup sour cream

    1/4 Cup milk

    1 1/2 Tbsp white vinegar

    2 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice

    1/3 Cup sugar

    1/2 tsp salt

    1/8 tsp pepper

Combine the cabbage, carrot and onion in a large bowl. Blend the rest of the ingredients in a small bowl. Add it to the cabbage, carrot, %26amp; onion, mix well. Cover %26amp; refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.

Options: Add grapes and/or apple chunks

And you must have beans at a BBQ.

    Baked Beans

1 lb thick sliced bacon, chopped

    1 lrg white onion, diced

3 28oz cans Bushes Original Recipe Beans

    4 Tbls brown sugar

Heat a 4qt dutch oven on med-hi. Chop the bacon into small pieces and fry it in the dutch oven till crispy. Scoop it out into a bowl and set aside. Drain most of the bacon grease out of the dutch oven, leave about 4-6 Tbls. Add the diced onion to the grease and cook over med heat 4-5 min. Lower the heat and add 4 Tbls of brown sugar, stir and cook another 3-4 min. Stir it frequently to keep the sugar from burning. Add the Bushes Beans and bacon, stir well. Bake at 300* for

at least 30 min but preferably 2-3 hrs.

This is a really great, easy and inexpensive dessert that people always love.

    Pudding Fluff

    2 cps milk

2 sm box of Jell-o Instant Pudding any flavor you choose

16 oz container of Cool Whip

Graham Cracker or Oreo Cookie Crust

Put the milk in a mixing bowl, add the pudding mix. Whisk until blended, quickly fold in the Cool Whip. Scoop into the graham cracker or Oreo crust and refrigerate.

Cheesecake version, use a potato masher to blend 8oz of softened cream cheese into the milk before adding the pudding mix and use Vanilla pudding. I like layering the cream cheese version with chocolate. A can of berry or cherry pie filling is real good over the cream cheese version. How Do You Plan a BBQ With Food On the Cheap?
This great pulled pork is cheap and easy.

    CHOPPED PORK SANDWICHES

    1 6-7 lb Pork Roast (Boston Butt/Shoulder)

    Demon Pig BBQ Rub

2 bottles "Demon Pig BBQ Sauce"

Trim Excess fat from roast. Sprinkle with Demon Pig BBQ Rub.

Cook on grill with indirect heat at 225/250 degrees for 6 hours to an internal temp of 160 degrees. (This can be done in an oven or bbq smoker.)

Place in pan with 1/2 cup water, cover and place back on heat for one hour to finish. Remove from heat, let stand 30 minutes. Careful uncover. Let stand an additional 15 minutes.

Pull and chop meat to just under bite size pieces.

Warm "Demon Pig BBQ Sauce" slightly and mix thoroughly until lightly covered throughout meat. Serve additional sauce warm on the side.

Serve on buns with your favorite sides.

    The beans are super also.
what about grilled chicken.. can do in advance.. slice up and have grilled peppers and onions on the side with the fixings for fajitas? It would be easier and probably cheaper than hot dogs

What do veggie burgers taste like?

I've recently become a vegetarian, and tomorrow my mother and I are going grocery shopping for foods I can eat. I have never tried a veggie burger and I'd like to know what they taste like before I buy them because if I hate it then I'll regret wasting money.|||It depends on what they make them out of. Read the label. If the top ingredient is soybeans or texturized soy protein, or texturized vegetable protein, they probably taste like soybeans. Most often the texture will be a lot closer than the flavor. 鈭犅?|||It depends on which burger patties you buy. The patties vary a lot from manufacturer to manufacturer.

I do not like Boca Burgers--they are TOO MUCH like meat.

I do like Morningstar Farms Grillers (original), because they look like the burger patties that "everyone else" is eating, they taste good, and yet I know for sure they are not meat. It's the texture more than the taste that I think is important with Morningstar Farms patties. I also like the mushroom patties, which taste like you'd think mushroom burgers would taste. I don't much care for the spicy Black Bean; too spicy for me. You might want to try several "flavors" to find the one you like best. Sometimes I'll make gravy (oil, flour, Gravy Master, and either water or milk) and then heat up the burger patties in the gravy for "hamburger steak." My whole family likes that meal.

Amy's Organics burgers are also tasty but do not taste or feel like meat. I'd recommend them as well if you want to eat a patty but you do not want to eat meat and you want to know you're not eating meat.

Two restaurant chains where I have eaten veggieburgers that were good are Ruby Tuesday and Denny's.|||i think the best veggie burgers are the boca ones. the american flame-grilled taste the most like real burgers, but the other kinds are good too. also the "chicken" nuggets that boca makes taste exactly like real chicken. ive given them to people before without telling them, and they dont say anything. there are also a lot of other foods out there that you can eat. and id like to say thank you for becoming a vegetarian. the animals would thank you if they could talk (:|||They don't taste like real meat- so don't expect them to. That doesn't make them bad, though :)

They pretty much run the gamut.

I highly recommend MorningStar Spicy Black Bean Burger- they are so delicious, though not vegan, and I loved them.

Boca vegan burgers are great for diets- 13g protein for 70 calories- but their taste isn't the best.

I also like trader Joe's vegan chorizo (in a burrito).

I'm not a big fan or fake meats, so thats all I've tried.

    Also, I would get:

grains- oatmeal, rice, quinoa, tortillas, bread, potatoes/sweet potatoes, baked chips, bran muffins, and pita pockets

dairy- vegetarian cheese, vegetarian yogurt (no gelatin), and skim milk

eggs- try to get organic/free range if you can

fruits- lots of raw (apples, clementines, bananas, cherries, pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, peaches, berries, plums, grapes), and some dried (dried cherries, raisins, dates)

vegetables- lots of lenitls (black beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, chickpeas, peas), eggplant, broccoli, corn, carrots, squash, bell peppers, and mushrooms are my favorites

fats- extra virgin olive oil (sauteeing), canola oil (baking), avocado/guacamole, unsalted nuts, unsalted seeds, and trail mixes. Ground flaxseed has a nutty taste, I eat it on oatmeal and toast. Also, natural nut butters (no hydrogenated oils)- peanut, almond, etc

protein- you can try tempeh (I sautee in olive oil with rice, peas, and carrots), some fake meats, tofu

Other sources of protein already listed are: eggs, dairy, nuts, lentils, seeds, quinoa. You can get by just fine without the 'weird' soy products :)|||A veggie burger is okay. You can eat them exactly the same as any other burger. Just get one box in case you don't like them. Make sure you get the good popular brand, not the cheap knock offs because they aren't nice.

Their potatoes and veggies in a bread crumb batter. Don't cook them on a bbq because they fall apart and don't get fully cooked through. Make sure they are cooked through right to the centre because they just taste disgusting if their not. I like them.

Congrats on going veggie. I started when i was 4. Their are loads of great mags and cookery books about getting a healthy diet. Make sure you eat loads of : Nuts, lentils, beans, dried fruits and yoghurt's. (I found out in a veggie magazine that yoghurt's help protect your teeth from acid erosion from of healthy drinks.)|||There are many types of veggie burgers on the market. Some are

more grain based and others more vegetable based.

You can learn to make your own veggie burger with the

ingredients that you like. Its really not that hard and

may actually be cheaper than buying them at the grocery

store or health food store.|||Not sure about the stores you have available to you but where I live I use GimmeLean ground beef style. It comes in a sort of tube, don't know how else to describe it. It's similar to buying ground beef, rolling it up into a ball, flattening it and throwing it on the grill. With this I make my own patties so I can decide how thin or thick I want them to be. They also sell GimmeLean ground sausage style. With this brand I have tricked many a meat eater into thinking they were eating a real burger. You can also create meat balls, use it in tacos, lasagna etc...They also don't use soybeans that were made using biotechnology.

There are recipes on their website http://www.lightlife.com/recipes.jsp

You may have something different available where you live I'm not sure.

As far as the already formed patties go, some veggie burgers are trying to imitate the taste and look of a meat burger and some are doing their own thing as a veggie burger with identifiable vegetables and various flavors i.e. spicy black bean made by morningstar. Some are spot on and some have missed the mark completely.

But of course if you find none of these are working for you, veggie burgers are only one of your many options. Just be careful about overeating on the more heavily processed foods and whenever possible, make your own. Goodluck.|||Garden burgers taste like their ingredients, potatoes, beans, cheese and spices. Boca burgers kind of have a unique flavor and texture that is a little hard to describe. Maybe a little like the texture of a hot dog, but not as salty, more smokey flavored.

I prefer homemade veggie burgers. I linked a favorite recipe down below.|||Well it definetely doesn't taste like a burger because it's not oily and greasy. You can see the sprouts in it and it's a bit flimsy in texture but really good if you grill it. I usually have a veggie burger and sweet potato fries that are baked w/o salt and not fried. Also a good side dish to the veggie burger is brown rice and mixed vegetables.|||It depends on what kind of veggie burger you are getting. My personal favorite is the Black Bean burger. I'm not a fan of the tofu or soy veggie burger %26gt;.%26lt;. I love the rice and been one too :D! They have some that are made from just veggie, which isn't that good. I'm not really a fan of the portabella mushroom veggie burger, but you get the point. There are a lot of types of veggie burgers. You have to decide which ones you like. Always read the ingredients. FYI they do not taste like hamburgers. None of them do, but they are still GREAT =D.|||In my experience there are two kinds of veggie burgers. There are the ones where vegetables (things like chick peas etc) are deep fried in breadcrums, these mind go best with some mayo and lettuce, like chicken burgers. Then you have meat alternative which are more like beef burgers that go well with either a burger sauce and lettuce or BBQ sauce. Either way, they're both good and satisfy meat cravings.|||Don't expect them to taste like actual hamburgers. I don't eat them often now that I've been at this for a while, but they give you just enough of an idea of a hamburger to make you not really miss meat. I think they're good with ketchup, mustard, onion, lettuce and tomato on them.|||I like them. When I was vegetarian (before I became vegan) I used to go to Burger King and get theirs. They were actually very good. Just as good as regular burgers in my opinion. I have never had the boxed ones. Prefer to fry my tofu. lol.|||Boca's vegan burgers are amazing! My mom had one and she said that they remind her of steak. If you do buy them, I recommend frying them in pan on the stove. The grill doesn't heat them very well, just burns them. You won't regret it though. :)|||If you buy the MorningStar ones, you HAVE to grill them like you would a normal burger them. (To me) they're just disgusting any other way. Grilled they aren't bad though.|||I've forgotten what meat tastes like, but veggie burgers are good when you have the whole shebang-bun, cheese (no rennet) lettuce, sauces, gherkins-taste mighty fine.|||i dont like burgers because of the meat but i like everything else on a burger so i would describe feggieburgers as great|||They are good!! Black bean burgers are the best..just look at the ingredients because many of them have a lot of additives and are just not worth even eating.|||Depends on what you like, but honestly even before becoming a vegetarian id prefer the veggie burger above the meat burger|||There are some veggie burgers that taste almost exactly like meat.|||I think they are good. I actually kinda like them better than regular meat burgers. But it depends on my mood.

I think they have like rice and some other stuff in them. They're good.|||I like lettuce and tomato on my burger!|||it depends wat flavor you buy them. but for me all of them are delicious. i recomend Morningstar veggie burgers|||Not exactly like meat....but ohhh soooo yummy. Better than meat. Meat is so fatty and rubbery.|||potato...and garlic.|||You should get a boca brand of bergers they are good and dont tast like rubber!|||They're delicious

But not as good as meaty burgers

I'm sure you'll like them|||Crap|||They taste like burnt vegetables. They're nasty.|||They do not taste good .

So, the waitress takes him back where the cook is and to his demise, he sees the cook take the meat patty and flatten it under his arm pit. He says, "That's disgusting!"

    Burger King Coffee....?

One day I was sitting in the mile long drive-thru lineup, at our ever famous and very, very important coffee shops of life, "Tim Horton's" and did something I have NEVER seen. I threw my car into reverse and quickly got out of there before I was trapped by millions more linning up and got into the almost none busy drive-thru at BURGER KING! Why? Their coffee is better tasting, and more satisfying than Tims! My question is, "WHAT BRAND OF COFFEE IS BURGER KING SELLING?" Help! I think I'm really screwed up. Advice?

When I was 19 I was a total mess. My mum was a single mum and I didnt see my dad anymore because he used to hit me.

I had no self esteem and I felt really alone because my mum had 2 much younger kids and she couldnt really give me what I needed emotionally. She also drank heavily for 2 years and even called child protective services and told them to take the other kids away. I basically had to hold my family together during this.

I started binge drinking, taking overdoses of pills and I felt so alone and lost.

When i was 19 i met a 30 year old guy. I wasnt attracted to his looks at all but he was really nice to me so i decided to date him.

I was basically a huge mess and i wanted someone to look after me and he offered me that. I dated him even though i wasnt attracted because i had huge emotional problems and i just needed someone mature to help me deal with them.

He let me move in with him, financially supported me and gave me heaps of emotional support when I was down. But i was too embarassed to introduce him to my friends and i felt like a loser dating a guy that much older.

I was basically a suicidal mess when i met him. I was doing things like sleeping in a back lane at night to get away from my mum.

I kind of regret dating him for some reasons - because I wasnt really attracted although I did start loving him because he was really nice to me and basically did anything for me.

I had no self esteem and I was working in a burger shop and he helped me believe in myself and get into university and I even came top of my university because I finally had someone who loved me unconditionally. At the time i just felt i didnt have a choice - i was going to end up dead if i didnt find someone to take care of me.

Do you think I'm very screwed up for what I did? I did end up loving him but I do feel bad that I basically needed someone to take care of me and the relationship was based on that.Help! I think I'm really screwed up. Advice?
First of all....WOW, you are very brave and amazing person to have gone through this and end up with Uni under your belt, so I want to say well done!

Secondly, have you chatted with your boyfriend about this? he will probably take it well being of that age...If you love him deep down then thats all that matters, it sounds like he loves you to bits and thats really good...Usually I would say going out with someone as a Father Figure (which is pretty much what happened) is not a good idea, but under the circumstances I thinks its great of him to have been there for you and I think that love does grow and you have ended up loving him, so its all good...if you were unsure of the relationship and still didnt really like him then you should tell him asap...but now that you are in love with him its ok... do you make love? are you deeply in love, the kind of love that you think about them now and then through the day, you cant wait to see them again...etc etc? OR..are you confusing love with something else? like this father figure type? or a plutonic kind of love? I would say that if you are having sex and making love then you should know in your heart then, it either feels good and you love making love, or if it feels weired and you cant wait for it to finish then I think there is an issue and you may love him on a different level to actually being in love.....bit of a mess with my sentances there but you get what I am saying?

But seriosuly, you have become a strong person out of this and you should be even stronger and make up you mind about what you want out of life and if it has him in your life as a lover, friend, or whatever, then you need to decide because it may break his heart to hear this further down the track..I dont know but thats all I can say, hope you are ok and I hope you two will be fine....Good luck!Help! I think I'm really screwed up. Advice?
Woh... and I though I was a mess...

Some of your family menus for the week?

Hi, My step son is here for 3 weeks, and I am trying to make a 'menu' per se, for grocery shopping. I have thngs like...chix parm, spag %26amp; balls, sloppy joes, haluski, hot dogs, tacos, burgers and chix on the grille, but i'm kinda at a standstill. I have quite a few more days to go!! Any suggestions? Some of your family menus for the week?
tuna casseroles, meat loaf, tomato basil pie, pizza, chicken Alfredo, fish sticks/chicken fingers, stuffed zucchini or peppers, pot roast and veggies, pork chops in cream of mushroom soup (recipe on cream of mushroom soup can "Campbell's) instead of chicken I use the pork chops, corn dogs, egg/spring rolls and egg drop soup, ......breakfast burritos, savory stuffed pancakes, Stromboli.....Some of your family menus for the week?
Chicken potpie, the ready to bake kind, either individual or family size at your market, and how about a meat loaf %26amp; gravy or stuffed peppers, made with ground beef and rice...all easy and can be made ahead so you can spend some quality time together. Some of your family menus for the week?
How about a corned beef brisket in the crockpot, and mashed potatoes? With the leftovers you can make hash with some extra leftover baked potatoes. That's what we're having tonight. One brisket, 3 days' worth of food!
bbq ribs in the crockpot, enchiladas, chicken and rice bake(email if you would like the recipie), breakfast stuff, hamburgers on the grill, grilled cheese

What goes with home made burgers?

I'm making home made burgers for dinner tonight and need something really nice to go with them.

I'm a bit bored of basic food like chips, and want to get something nice to complement the meal. I'm going to the shops a bit later, any suggestions? What goes with home made burgers?
The easiest way to make home made potato wedges:

Slice washed potatoes into wedges, put in bowl; toss with some olive oil %26amp; 1 pkg dry Onion Soup Mix. Spread out on foil lined cookie sheet %26amp; bake at 425 until desired crispiness. Easy %26amp; a hit!

You can also grill corn on the cob while you have the grill going for the burgers, just remove the silky hairs first. Or even grill other veggies - zucchini, yellow squash, onions, tomatoes, eggplant.

And a great grill dessert - grilled fruit %26amp; ice cream. Sprinkle fruit (pineapple, plums, peaches, pears) with a little brown sugar %26amp; pepper, then place on grill. Serve warm with ice cream.
Home fries! Sounds crazy but its totally awesome! What goes with home made burgers?
    make homemade french fires!
Potato salad. Instead of pickles in the salad, add some HP pickled onions chopped up in addition to the onions that are added fresh. You may need to add a pinch or two of white sugar or honey to this to get the correct balance of sweet to sour ratio.

Boiled, mashed and buttered "Swedes" which is the root veggie known as Rutabaga's to us in the States.

You could top your burgers with a cooked Banger too. That is always good. What I call a "Double Dutch"What goes with home made burgers?
A few items come to mind, here is what I like to serve with burgers:

Any of your favorite toppings for hamburger

    PREPARATION:

Mix ingredients together. Shape into patties and grill over prepared grill until done. Top with steak sauce such as A1 or Heinz or just plain ketchup and mustard will do.
