Nauseated with diarrhea for 2 days now...what is it?

i've had this for 2 days now. i took pepto bismol for the diarrhea and it didnt work.can i even take pepto bismol for the diarrhea? is it bad to have it for more than 2 days?

the last thing i ate was a hamburger with cheese from an old burger shop. once i ate that all this started happening, my husband ate one too and he is perfectly fine.

another thing, i dont drink water..at all. since giving birth to my daughter all i wanna do is sleep and when i do eat i drink soda, maybe like two cups...once or twice a day. (my daughter doesnt really allow me to eat, she seems to wake up right when im about to)

so am i dehydrated or did i get some kind of stomach flu from the burger?Nauseated with diarrhea for 2 days now...what is it?
could be dehydration, stress, swine flu, food poisoning (maybe something happened to your burger or a condiment you used)
Dehydration won't give you nausea and diarrhoea. You may have picked up a mild case of food poisoning from the burger, however it's hard to tell. You could have picked up a virus or other bug from anywhere really, within the last few days.Nauseated with diarrhea for 2 days now...what is it?
i am going with the burger lay down and let dad do the work for a day and u should be drinking 5 bottles of water a day

so i would start on that so u can recover adn not feel so icky
I would stop taking the pepto bismol right now and let your colon rest from medications right now. You really needed to include the age of your daughter too. This would have helped allot. An old remedy for diarrhea is to drink flattened coke and Zingerone ginger . Not necessarily together but these are also used to fight nausea too. This has been used for years by those that know about it so why not give it a try? I used flattened coke with my 4 month old son that had salmonella for those symptoms and I actually got it from the local Children's Hospital. The Zingerone Ginger I would only use by yourself right now, since your daughter's only problem is that she's a baby needing what every baby needs, love, food, drink, and a diaper change before going back to sleep again. When mommy is sick it's best to get someone else to take over the baby duties until you feel better again. At this point it really doesn't matter what the cause of it is either. Only to get it stopped so that you can be back on your feet to feeling well again too. To do so you'll also need to drink 8-10 8oz. glasses of wholesome water a day. A new mother needs plenty of new immunity, blood cells and energy to take care of everyone again. Water is the only thing that replenishes these things too. You might wnt to try 1 bottle of Gatorade a day for the enzymes to get a big push too. Good luck and God BlessNauseated with diarrhea for 2 days now...what is it?
It may have been the burger. Your husband had one too but he didn't have the same one as you. So it may be bacterial gastroenteritis but on the other hand it's possible that this could be the viral form. There's no stomach flu because flu is an infection of the upper respiratory system. It should pass in by day 3.

Yes, Pepto-Bismol treats diarrhea and nausea but Imodium AD %26amp; Emetrol do it better. Imodium for diarrhea %26amp; Emetrol for nausea. Diarrhea can become harmful if it continues unabated for more than 3 consecutive days. In that case, if you cannot control it, see your doctor. It's essential that you drink plain water. Your husband absolutely must take over the care of your daughter so that you can care for yourself. This is something he should have done at the start of your illness and should have been doing his share of childcare all along. Make sure you eat small meals throughout the day. Try the BRAT diet to control the diarrhea -- Bananas, plain steamed Rice, Applesauce and dry Toast. Use this for 2 or 3 days.

If in 4 days you are still having diarrhea at the same rate you're having it now, see your doctor. It may be a condition that requires a stool analysis and prescription medication.
